Galtos-Talkon is a prison planet set up by the empire and was kept running by the republic. The environment is inhospitable to all but the hardiest creatures as the rain and hydrosphere are highly acidic, certainly not enough to eat through the prison or the limited spacecraft they allow to land in enclosed landing pads there, but certainly acidic enough to score the flesh off of a Barabel in the time it takes to blink.
