Jaalib barely escaped becoming one of the Emperor's hands as his father sacrificed his life to save his son and to keep High Inquisitor Tremayne from capturing the boy. Jaalib was taken in by Stromgald Caballa, a Jedi Knight turned Jedi Ambassador for the new republic. Jaalib came to think of Stromgald as a father and when Stromgald's son Kae' came to live with them the two bonded as only brothers could. even going so far as to attend the Jedi Academy together. Jaalib was not meant for the life of a Jedi, he dreamed of being an actor like his father and when the time came he left the academy and pursued a career as an actor with his father's blessing. Jaalib had a tendency to play Jedi trained Special Forces soldiers turned law-enforcement officers in his movies. He and Kae' stayed close but only saw each other sporadically after Jaalib left the academy. The last time the two of them saw one another Kae' came to visit his brother on the set of his last movie.
