John acted as the leader of the Tomorrow People, being the creator of TIM and the underground lab. The show started after he had broken out. He had a slightly arrogant attitude towards Saps (Home Sapiens) who did not possess the special powers that the Tomorrow People had. Which wasn't that hard to imagine, considering that most of the good guys who were saps acted like dense muscle-men. John had a very mother-henning attitude. His word was law to the Tomorrow People, and only Elizabeth and Mike stood up to him, while Stephen simply whined. John never had a job or went to school. He spent most of his time in the lab, one of his favorite pass-times being a jaunt to the beach. History in the Kilb-iverse: Some twenty years before the battle of Yavin a series of Jedi ships were sent out beyond the fringes of the known galaxy to explore and try to find other civilizations. It's thought that clone troops aboard the ship wiped out the Jedi's as was Palpatine's plan. In some situations that might have been the case. In the case of the Quadrian Jedi vessel it made a jump into hyperspace and hit a semi-stable wormhole that sent it spiraling out of control and countless light years off course. The matter was made worse when they came out of the wormhole and hit a fluctuating radiation field near the sixth planet in the system. This field killed their sensors, communications and hyperdrive systems effectively rendering them blind. By sheer luck they crashed on the third planet from the sun, the only planet with a habitable atmosphere. Those who survived were rescued by a fishing trolley and via the force's ability to translate languages they were able to converse with their rescuers and told a story about having escaped from a downed ship. Those that survived were taken back to civilization and began trying to work their way into this new society, a society that, at the time, hadn't even developed real space travel beyond their own moon. The Jedi's and their crew drifted around and over time split up going their separate ways. Some died, others married and became a part of the society and others simply faded away never to be seen again. John Nichols was born seventeen years after the ship crash landed on earth, his father (Karlki Nicona) had became a police officer and taught John what he knew (Including the ability to Jaunt...) before being killed in the line of duty. John ventured back to wreckage of the ship and gathered what artifacts survived the crash and submersion on water via sealed containers. One of the few items that he was able to recover was a Jedi Holocron which he had to extensively rebuild using modern day technology. The Jedi master contained in the holocron was named Timous and became the central computer system that was housed in the lab. John then went about finding the other surviving descendents of the crash and gathering them together in Central London as he used Timous to repair the distress beacon for the downed craft. The plan was to take the younglings off the planet and return to the republic with them. The plan came to fruition when Kae' Caballa and a group of Republic operatives came to Earth to return two people that had been kidnapped, while on planet they picked up the signal and when they went to investigate what was generating the distress signal they found a small atoll and quickly discovered the downed craft in the water. When they went to return to the atoll from the water Kae discovered there was a young boy on the atoll and there was no way he could've arrived there. When the group tried to stop him from fleeing the boy ducked behind a rock and literally disappeared. He returned a short while later with John and a few others and Kae' learned the story of how they arrived there and how they had managed to survive for so long. John and Kae' got along famously from the get go and after John gathered up the Jedi younglings (Including his long time compatriots Tia, Tonki and Matthew Star) the group left earth and returned to a Republic they'd never seen before. John became a teacher at the Jedi Academy on Tatooine before it was moved to Yavin-4. |
