Story Factors:
Outlaw and Kill on Sight:

The Heli’quice have standing orders against them from the Imperials to kill on sight, they have been branded as insurgents and separatists.

Displaced People:
The Heli’quice are a displaced race, with their home world of Helk’laati , having long since been lost to the ravages of the Empire. There are fewer than 50,000,000 Heli’quice left in the universe.

Technologically ignorant:
The Heli’quice are not technology progressed beyond simple slug-throwers and primitive weapons ordinarily, in the last sixty-five years they've done a lot of catching up with the rest of the universe.

The Heli’quice are a insectoid race from the planet Helk'latti on the outer fringes of known space, their encounter with the Imperials is somewhat legendary as they attacked a defeated a large enough Imperial force that Grand Admiral Thrawn was given momentary pause before ordering the complete extermination of the race. Any race that they have encountered simply becomes food for the Heli'quice drones or their queen mother. Imperial forces in the Bakorn system trapped the Heli'quice in the Torajii sector using grav-well generators and an intricately made satellite alarm system which Ferb Korseg turned into an oversized starship garage door opener to allow their refugees a place to live on Torajii giving them acess to the planet and allowing them to come and go from the sector. Once the Heli’quice discovered that someone had the ability to come and go from the sector they began searching for their newly discovered neighbors before the members of the 284th came into conflict with them. Through sheer cunning, sufficently applied violence and the death of an Over-queen Doc Horton used the Force to assume control of the hive mind and strand them on New Helk'latti, it remains to be seen if the Heli’quice will escape their prison planet or not...
